There are three ways to register for the Spring Grand Prix.

1) Register for all three tournaments simultaneously and securely online by January 29, 2016. A direct link will be available at www.gainesvillechess.com. There is no extra charge for online registration.

Fee: $40 for all three tournaments.

2) Fill out registration form and mail it to the address below. Mailed registration fees must be

received by the Friday preceding the tournament.

Fee: $15 per tournament. $40 for all three tournaments.

3) Register on site between 12:30pm – 1:15pm. Registration forms will be available.

Fee: $20 per tournament.

Schedule (Day of Tournament)

  • Late Registration: 12:30pm – 1:15pm.
  • All players must arrive by 1:15pm.

Sections K-1, K-3, K-5, K-12 Round 1 1:30 – 3:00 Round 2 3:00 – 4:30

A player may miss one of the three Grand Prix days and receive bye points (1 out of 2 points). This request must be made at least 24 hours in advance.


  • All participants will receive either a ribbon or a medal at each tournament.
  • In sections K-1, K-3, K-5 and K-12, any one-day score of 1.5-2 points will receive a medal.
  • On the last day, any players who attended all three tournaments will be given a participationtrophy.

Grand Prix scores are cumulative. At the end of Day 3, the top five scoring individuals in each

section will be awarded a Grand Prix Trophy.

Grand Prix Trophies will also be awarded to the top two scoring teams in each section. While

team sizes may vary, a team score will consist of only the top three scoring boards/individuals from each section of each scoring team.

Please Note: All participants must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult member of their school or chess club. NO STUDENT IS TO BE DROPPED OFF. Parents and coaches will be responsible for the actions of their students at all times. Good sportsmanship and proper behavior is expected at all times both during and between rounds.
